Thankful Thursday

To read what others are thankful for, visit Iris over at Grace Alone.

Like Iris, I miss my Dad. He too was called away early, and suffered a lot. He was a good Christian, and a very gentle quiet person. He left seven daughters when he went to meet Mom.

Everyone has a purpose here on this earth. We must learn to trust God, and do good. Solomon said, .....Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man. Ecc.12:13
The two greatest commandments according to Matt. 22:37-40 are

1. to love God, and
2. to love your neighbor as yourself.

I'm thankful that we will all be together again someday. There, we'll never be separated again. No suffering, no goodbye's. We'll finally be where we belong, but while we're here, let's do all we can for those around us. Encouraging, loving, meeting needs where we can. Let's take advantage of the open doors, stand in awe of the mysteries of life. Trust God to lead us all the way through to the end, and don't forget to enjoy the journey.

  1. we all have a purpose, so true. that's why even when we don't understand why things happen the way they do, we can trust in Him to work things out for us. we all have a purpose in this earth.

  2. Great encouragement there to all do what we can here and now as we wait for Heaven.

  3. This was a great post and a great encouragement to do all we can while we are still here. Have a blessed week. Debbie

  4. Good post, Tammy. Sometimes we forget to look past our troubles and help others. That's what Mom and Dad would have us do. That's what the Lord would have us do.I enjoy reading your posts they are a blessing. (I miss them too.)

  5. Yes. That is definitely something to be thankful for!

  6. A beautiful thankful post, Tammy! So thankful for the hope we have in the Lord that we WILL see our loved ones again!

    Happy Thanksgiving!
