Rejoice

This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.Psalm 118:24

This verse is special to me. I'm a “what if” person. I tend to worry and to think, what if this or that happens. The Lord helped me to see the last two words in this verse. -This is the day which the LORD hath made; we will rejoice and be glad IN -IT.

I had always quoted this verse, but never paid attention to those two words, -
in it. I will rejoice in today! Not in tomorrow, not in yesterday, but I will concentrate on today and rejoice in it. You can very soon rob yourself of today’s energy, and joy by worrying over tomorrow, or grieving over yesterday, and things you can’t change.

Let’s try what this verse prescribes. Realize first, this is the day which the Lord who created us made. The Lord who holds the future made this day for you to enjoy, not to worry in. Then rejoice and be glad IN -IT. How? Meditate on good things, and that’s what our heart will be full of. Things that are lovely, pure, and of good report. Choose to think on good things, and rejoice IN the day.

  1. Good Morning,
I found you by reading Sugar Pie Farm House, And it is so nice to meet you. Wonderful post to day , i have this scripture written in my bathroom where I read it everyday. But the point you brought out of -in it- is so important. Thank you for sharing.
    Blessings,

  3. Hi, Tammy.
I struggle with the "what-if"s too. This is a great verse--thanks for sharing your insight.

I'm curious to know how you came to visit my blog. It's always fun to "meet" new people. There's another great bug website called www.BugGuide.net for identifying bugs. I ususally search there first and once I figure out what the name of a critter is, I google the name for more info.
